Visitor guidelines at Ascension St. Francis Hospital
Our visitation policy allows us to provide a safe environment, high-quality care, and positive experiences when and where our patients need us.
Additional information for visitors
- Visiting hours: Recommended visiting hours are 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily
- Patient visitation from 8 p.m. – 8 a.m. is limited to emergencies determined by the medical, nursing staff or individuals participating in patient care. Anyone visiting under these circumstances must get an after-hours visitor pass from the Security Department. Please use the Emergency Department entrance (off South 16th Street).
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Visitors showing signs or symptoms of infection or illness should not visit. Symptoms of illness could include cough, fever, runny nose, rash, vomiting, diarrhea, or sore throat.
- Expectant mothers admitted to the labor and delivery unit are restricted to two visitors while in labor and delivery/recovery rooms.
- Emergency Department visitors are welcome 24/7; however, patients seeking emergency care often require prompt medical attention, which could delay immediate visitation. To make sure we can give the best health care possible, our Emergency Department staff may limit the number of visitors.
