Testing for signs of hearing loss
If you think you or your child may have a hearing problem, we deliver personalized hearing tests to diagnose hearing conditions. Our certified audiologists at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's - Audiology in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, deliver personalized care for children and adults — from newborn hearing screening tests to diagnostic hearing evaluations for adults. We listen to understand your concerns. Then, we deliver the care that is right for you.
We provide a variety of audiology services, including tests to identify and diagnose hearing loss. We educate you and your family about how to prevent noise-induced hearing loss. The type of test given depends on age and other factors.
Pediatric audiology tests
If your newborn does not pass their hearing test at the hospital, your doctor may refer you to our care team for additional hearing tests, such as an auditory brainstem response (ABR) test. We deliver the recommended 1-3-6 month approach for follow-up testing and care.
Hearing aid devices and assistive listening technology
We work with your doctor to recommend a hearing treatment plan. Listening with hearing aids or cochlear implants takes practice. We help you adapt to your device and fit the device during adjustment appointments. We also provide information about how assistive listening devices, such as telephone amplifiers, microphones and TV listening devices may help improve your quality of life.
