Please review the following volunteer commitment, requirements, and opportunities. There are a few things you should consider before completing an application:
Volunteer commitment
A volunteer is able and willing to provide approximately four hours of service per week. We ask for a commitment of at least six months. We cannot accommodate volunteers who need to accumulate just a few hours of volunteer time toward a school, community, or court-ordered service. We do not offer one-time only opportunities.
Volunteers must be age 16 or older to volunteer. Students are accepted year-round and are required to commit to two consecutive scheduling seasons (winter/spring, spring/summer, summer/fall and fall/winter). A minimum of fifty service hours are needed for students to request a recommendation or job reference.
Volunteers at the hospital are limited to certain areas and responsibilities. Volunteers are expected to be flexible and accept different assignments according to the needs and requirements of the patients, care teams, and volunteer services department. Volunteers must also comply with annual training.
Please note: Our NICU Nurturer program only accepts adults with a minimum one-year commitment.
