Volunteer commitment
A volunteer is able and willing to provide approximately four hours of service per week. We ask for a commitment of at least six months, and for students to commit to two scheduling seasons (fall/spring, spring/summer, summer/fall, etc.) Our NICU Nurturer Program only accepts adults with a minimum one year commitment.Students are accepted year-round. We do not have a summer only volunteer program. We also cannot accommodate volunteers who need to accumulate just a few hours of volunteer time toward a school, community or court-ordered service. A minimum of 50 service hours is required for students to request a recommendation or job reference.
Volunteers at the hospital are limited to certain areas and responsibilities. Volunteers are expected to be flexible and accept different assignments according to the needs and requirements of the patients, care teams, and Volunteer Services department.
