At the burn center, our specialists provide 24/7 emergency care and outpatient care for adults and children with:

You will be cared for by a multispecialty care team with specialists from Ascension St. Vincent’s and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent’s. Our care team includes burn care specialists, infectious disease specialists, plastic surgeons specially trained in burn and trauma care, anesthesiologists, therapists, dietitians, mental health specialists, pediatric specialists and more. We work together to deliver care for the whole person – physically and emotionally.

Emergency and inpatient burn care for adults and children
Severe burns are an emergency. At Ascension St. Vincent Adult and Pediatric Burn Center, we deliver advanced care for first-, second-, third- and fourth-degree burns. When you come into the emergency room with a severe burn, your care team quickly assesses the degree of your burn. If your condition requires a stay in the hospital, our care team will be here to support you along the way. We connect you with specialists in critical care, plastic surgery and more. Together, we create a personalized care plan that focuses on helping you regain function, prevent infection, reduce scarring and manage your pain.
If you or your child has a traumatic burn or injury, know you are connected to the highest level of trauma care in our Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center. And if your burn requires surgery, reconstructive and plastic surgeons are ready to deliver advanced surgical care.

Outpatient burn care
The Ascension St. Vincent Burn Center Clinic also delivers care for adults and children in our outpatient clinic. We provide same-day care for burns that do not require emergency care and follow-up care while you or your child is recovering. If your burn is more severe, you can be transferred to the inpatient burn unit at Ascension St. Vincent. Your care team can also connect you with specialists in plastic surgery, physical therapy, child life specialists and more. We also understand how burns can change daily life and affect emotional health. Your care team connects you with mental health specialists to help you cope during your recovery.
