J. Celeste Sheppard, MD, is a board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Ascension Medical Group Seton Women's Health in Austin, Texas. She works with your OB-GYN to deliver advanced care and a personalized approach in the management of high-risk pregnancy.

Dr. Sheppard's clinical interest is primarily in prenatal sonography, especially specialized first and second trimester techniques for the detection of birth defects, including congenital heart disease; diagnosis and management twin pregnancies; and care of pregnancies with other high risk conditions including Rh disease, and those at increased risk of preterm birth. She strives to deliver compassionate, personable care to each of her patients while remaining committed to evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Sheppard is fellowship-trained in both maternal-fetal medicine and perinatal research and is an assistant professor in the University of Texas Dell Medical School Department of Women's Health.

Dr. Sheppard is board-certified in maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Sheppard is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Sheppard is the founder of Tiny Hearts Project, a nonprofit devoted to improving prenatal detection of fetal heart defects.

Dr. Sheppard has won a variety of teaching awards and has been named a Texas Monthly Super Doctor several years running.

When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Sheppard enjoys supporting local arts organizations including ForkLift Danceworks and the UT Shakespeare at Winedale program.
