Bryan R. Hay, MD, is a board-certified, experienced pulmonologist at Ascension Saint Thomas in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Hay was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. He graduated with distinction from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry before attending medical school at the University of Kansas Medical Center. After graduation, he moved to Nashville where he completed internship and residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University. He went on to specialize in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, where he served as chief fellow, before returning to Nashville to join St. Thomas Medical Group in 2018.

Dr. Hay is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine.

Dr. Hay cares for patients with a variety of lung conditions but has a particular interest in asthma and lung cancer. He is experienced in advanced bronchoscopy, launching the Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital robotic bronchoscopy program in 2020 and was the first physician in Tennessee to introduce the Intuitive ION Navigational Bronchoscopy system into clinical practice.

Dr. Hay serves as the pulmonary division chief and director of the medical intensive care unit at Ascension Saint Thomas West Hospital in addition to the director of pharmacy and therapeutics and director of pulmonary medicine at Select Specialty Hospital West.
