Patrick A. Houghton, MD, is a board-certified, independent urologist at Ascension Via Christi in Wichita, Kansas. Dr. Houghton diagnoses and surgically treats bladder, prostate and renal (kidney) disorders in men and women.

Dr. Houghton practices general urology with emphasis on minimally invasive endoscopic surgical techniques to address prostate enlargement, stones, and urologic cancers as well as laparoscopic and robotic techniques for both malignant and non-malignant disorders of the genitourinary system. He currently is the only urologist in the area to offer Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP).

Dr. Houghton is board-certified by the American Board of Urology.

Dr. Houghton joins Wichita Urology following completion of his urologic training at the Mayo Clinic in Florida.

Prior to this, Dr. Houghton attended the US Air Force Academy followed by active duty military service, later transitioning out of the Air Force to pursue a career in medicine. He earned his medical doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Houghton enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 daughters, being involved in his church, and getting outdoors to both hunt and fish.
