Chesney D. Castleberry, MD, is a board-certified, experienced pediatric cardiologist at Dell Children's Pediatric and Congenital Cardiology in Austin, Texas. She has the expertise to diagnose, treat and manage even the most complex heart conditions in infants and children and specializes in pediatric heart failure and transplantation.

She starts by listening and works with you and your child to create a personalized care plan. Our multispecialty team approach to care means that if your child's heart condition is more complex, Dr. Castleberry works with a team of pediatric specialists at Ascension Seton to provide comprehensive care for your child.

Dr. Castleberry serves children of all ages with congenital heart disease. She delivers personalized, advanced heart care for children born with a heart condition, including: aortic stenosis, arrhythmias, atrial septal defects, cardiac tumors, heart blocks, heart failure, rhythm disorders, valve disease, and single ventricle defects, among others.

Dr. Castleberry has a special interest in heart failure and transplant, cardiomyopathy and ventricular assist devices.

Dr. Castleberry is also the medical director for the Heart Failure, VAD, and Transplant Program within the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children's Medical Center and UT Health Austin. Additionally, Dr. Castleberry is an associate professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. Castleberry is a member of the American Heart Association, American Society of Transplantation, International Pediatric Transplant Association and International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Castleberry lives in Austin with her husband and two children. They enjoy spending time in the Hill Country with family and outdoors on their bikes. Dr. Castleberry is also active in triathlons and has completed two Ironman competitions.
