About John Charles Pearce, MD
John Pearce, MD, was born in Rochester, Minnesota. He graduated from The University of Texas, Austin, with a BA in biology. He attended medical school at Tulane University in New Orleans, and completed his internship at Charity Hospital, also in New Orleans. His orthopedic surgery residency was at Bexar County Hospital District Medical Center in San Antonio. He also had a fellowship in lower extremity reconstruction and sports medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He joined the Austin Bone and Joint Clinic in 1989. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, and is a member of the Alamo Orthopedic Society, Texas Orthopedic Association, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. His special interests are in sports medicine. He is the team physician for the UT womens athletic department in orthopedics and is a staff member of the UT orthopedic clinic. He is a clinical assistant professor of orthopedics for The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and is involved in the orthopedic training program for residents. He was listed on the Best Doctors" list in Austin Magazine. He is married and has three children with whom he enjoys many activities. He also enjoys ranching and hunting. "
