Professional Statement

Being an infectious disease provider is more than just a profession to me. It is a passion. Every day I have the privilege of meeting new people, each with their own story and challenges. It is incredibly rewarding to help someone feel better, but even more meaningful to help them feel seen, heard, and cared for during what can be a very vulnerable time. Whether it is for an acute infection or a diagnosis of HIV, I know that taking the time to listen, explain, and offer steady support can make all the difference. It is in those moments when a patient feels hopeful or gains clarity that I am reminded why I do this work and why it matters so much.
