About Jerry Wayne Pratt, MD
Jerry Pratt, MD, FACS, FACC, FACP, is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon with Ascension Borgess Heart Institute- Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Pratt is board-certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery and provides care to adults. Dr. Pratt completed medical school education at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He then completed an internship and residency in Surgery from Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in Lackland AFB, Texas. He received his fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery from the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Pratt commonly treats cardiothoracic disease and has a special interest in Aortic and Mitral Valve Surgery, Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, and Minimally Invasive/Robotic Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Pratt has won numerous awards in the industry including the Award for Faculty Excellence from Western Michigan University Home Stryker M. D. School of Medicine, America's Top Surgeons from the Consumer Research Council of America, Top Thoracic Surgeon from Top Doctor's Magazine, and Thoracic Surgeon of the Year (2019) from Top Doctor's Magazine. In addition, he serves as the Assistant Professor of Surgery at Uniformed Services University of Health Services, F Edward Herbert School of Medicine and is a retired USAF Colonel. When not caring for patients, Dr. Pratt enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and Bison ranching.
