Shadi Barakat, MD, is an endocrinologist at Ascension Saint Agnes in Baltimore, MD. He also established a diabetes resource group to collaborate with nurses on ways to improve diabetes management. Dr. Barakat is a published diabetes and endocrinology expert who has written about papillary thyroid cancer, hypoglycemia, colorectal cancer and more. He has extensive research experience and has given presentations about topics such as osteoporosis and managing Type 2 diabetes. He has also taught courses at the National Institute of Health (NIH), and at the University of Missouri, the University of Maryland, American University of the Caribbean and American University of Antigua. Dr. Barakat earned his medical doctorate at the University of Damascus in Syria. He completed his fellowship training in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the University of Missouri.
