Gerard J. Dr. Abood is one of few surgeons in the chicagoland area specializing in the use of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in combination with cytoreductive surgery. Dr. Abood is a high volume pancreatic surgeon performing both the Whipple procedure (also called pancreaticoduodenectomy) and distal pancreatectomy. He is skilled in the treatment of pancreatitis as well as complex gastrointestinal surgery for various benign conditions.
