Taral K. Patel, MD, is a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist (a cardiologist with advanced training in heart rhythm disorders) at Ascension Illinois in Elk Grove Village, IL near Chicago.

Dr. Patel is an expert in finding and treating the root cause of these electrical problems. Dr. Patel has years of experience treating all arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation (Afib), atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ventricular tachycardia/fibrillation (VT/VF), PACs, PVCs, bradycardia, and inherited arrhythmia syndromes. He offers both noninvasive and minimally invasive therapy. Treatment options may include lifestyle adjustments, specialized medications, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation (and long term management of these devices), implantation of stroke prevention devices (such as Watchman), and catheter ablation (a procedure to find and eliminate the arrhythmia focus within the heart).

Dr. Patel has more than a decade of experience performing these procedures, using all available technology including radiofrequency, cryothermal, and pulsed field ablation (PFA). These treatments are generally performed outpatient, allowing patients to go home the same day. Most importantly, these treatments are typically curative.
