Dr. Lewis has a special interest in cystic fibrosis as a result of his clinical research in hyponatremia and through his role as the Director of the Ascension Via Christi Adult Cystic Fibrosis Specialty Clinic. Since cystic fibrosis is a full body disease, affecting multiple systems, Dr. Lewis believes that caring for patients with cystic fibrosis has made him a better physician all around. He believes that attention to the patient as a whole, rather than a conglomerate of systems, is exceptionally valuable in both disease management and disease prevention.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Lewis enjoys endurance racing such as Ironman triathlons and shorter triathlons, obstacle course races, swim-run races, and races up and down Pikes Peak.
