Dr. Dierckman earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Emory University, followed by a fellowship in sports medicine at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Los Angeles. Before joining Elite Sports Medicine + Orthopedics, he spent four years practicing at SCOI.
A former collegiate football player at the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Dierckman has served as a team physician for various schools in Indiana and California. He is actively involved in educating fellow surgeons nationwide, focusing on advanced hip preservation techniques.
Dr. Dierckman’s clinical interests include hip impingement and labral tears, hip dysplasia, knee ligament injuries, meniscus and cartilage repair, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, and anterior approach hip replacement utilizing computer navigation. He also performs complex procedures such as periacetabular osteotomy and multi-ligamentous knee reconstructions.
In March 2025, Dr. Dierckman performed Tennessee’s first arthroscopic MACI (Matrix-induced Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation) procedure, a cutting-edge cell therapy for cartilage restoration in the knee.
