Cameron Jay Vanlaningham, MDOrthopedic Surgery in Kalamazoo, MI

Dr. Cameron Vanlaningham grew up in a small farming community in northern Indiana. From there, he attended Purdue University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He then attended four years of medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He spent the next five years completing his surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the Michigan State University-Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. He then went on to complete an additional one year orthopedic trauma fellowship under the direction of renown surgeon Dr. David Seligson at the University of Louisville trauma center in Louisville, KY. Dr. Vanlaningham is the Director of Orthopedic Trauma at Borgess Medical Center and actively participates in peer review of trauma cases with the entire trauma team to continuously improve care for injured patients. He is also a clinical faculty member at the Western Michigan University School of Medicine Department of Orthopedic Surgery and participates in the training of orthopedic residents as part of the core faculty in orthopedic trauma. His clinical interests include all manner of fracture care ranging from the simple to the complex. This includes acute fractures of the upper and lower extremity, including complex joint fractures as well as fractures that have not healed. He is also one of only a few orthopedic surgeons who care for complex fractures of the pelvis and hip socket in the Kalamazoo area. Dr. Vanlaningham has been practicing in Kalamazoo since 2012. He takes pride in providing outstanding orthopedic trauma care to injured patients. He hopes to provide advanced and compassionate care to those injured patients, while continuing to contribute to the educational training of the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
