Dr. MacKinney graduated magna cum laude from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. Prior to medical school, Dr. MacKinney worked as a pharmacy technician and as a medical interviewer for an insurance company.

When not caring for patients, Dr. MacKinney enjoys playing golf, running, skiing, snowboarding, being outdoors, doing yard work, fine dining, and spending time with his family.
