Dr. Olsen received his doctoral degree in oncology from the McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research at the University of Wisconsin and a medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School. He completed his internal medicine residency, a three-year fellowship in medical oncology and a two-year fellowship in neuro-oncology at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics.

Dr. Olsen is a co-author of articles and abstracts. He has given presentations on cancer prevention, breast cancer, gastric lymphoma, brain tumors, and chronic myelogenous leukemia.
