About Stephanie Ann Booth, MD
Dr. Stephanie Booth will join Texas Orthopedics as a Rheumatologist in September 2005. She was drawn to Rheumatology because of the diversity of illnesses, from common disease entities such as osteoarthritis and osteoporosis to some of the most rare such as scleroderma and vasculitis. In addition, the field of Rheumatology is exploding with new advances in pathophysiology and treatment. She cherishes the long term relationships with her patients which is an integral part of the field of Rheumatology. Dr. Booth received a BA in Clinical Psychology from Tufts University in Boston, MA. She graduated medical school from University of Texas Medical Branch with excellence awards in both Internal Medicine and dermatology. She completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. Finally, she finished her subspecialty training in Rheumatology at the University of Chicago. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible in Rheumatology. She has a special interest and has done research in both systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis but also practices general rheumatology. Dr. Booth returns to Austin area to join her family. When not caring for patients, she is an avid reader and loves running along lakes, whether it be Town Lake or Lake Michigan.
