Dawn M. Zimmer, MD, is a maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialist at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, Indiana. She specializes in high-risk pregnancies. Dr. Zimmer works with your OB-GYN to deliver advanced care for high-risk pregnancy and advanced ultrasound evaluation of your developing baby. Dr. Zimmer and her team specialize in diagnosing and monitoring fetal anomalies associated with genetic disorders. While on labor and delivery, Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians aid in coordinating care with the hospital's neonatal care team and your primary care doctor for the health of both mother and baby.

Dr. Zimmer delivers advanced diagnostic tests and care during high-risk pregnancy, labor and delivery, including fetal diagnostic testing and evaluations, prenatal screenings and ultrasound sonography.

Dr. Zimmer is currently involved in a research project comparing the IOTA ADNEXA to O-RADS detection of ovarian cancer in North America. She was certified in the IOTA ADNEX model to determine the risk for ovarian malignancies in 2019.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Zimmer enjoys riding her bike and can claim to have ridden in all 92 counties of Indiana. She has the privilege of being a weekend docent at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Her stress release is cooking with the annual goal of making at least 52 new recipes a year. Her family is a constant source of pleasure (husband, 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and 2 border terriers). She is looking forward to being a grandmother whenever that happens.
