She is part of the stroke care team and specializes in the stroke interventions and IV-tPA medication to dissolve a blood clot that is causing a stroke. If you are at risk for stroke, she can help manage your risk factors, such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol, with medication therapies. She also focuses on monitoring cerebrovascular conditions and heart arrhythmias. Dr. Laroia Coon received her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA and completed her neurology residency with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center at Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA.

She completed her vascular neurology fellowship at Michigan State University in Lansing, MI and then moved to southern UT to become the stroke medical director and sole neurologist at a primary stroke center with thrombectomy capabilities. Dr. Laroia Coon then pivoted to practicing telestroke and teleneurology full time.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Laroia Coon loves spending time with her husband and children, exercising, and making stroke education content videos.
