Dr. Verseman grew up in Southern Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, his medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed his residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Verseman served in the United States Navy as a surgeon and was the ship’s surgeon on the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier.
