Brent M Toney, DOCritical Care Medicine in Indianapolis, IN

Brent M. Toney, DO, is a pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine specialist at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Toney treats patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital and then treats patients with diseases of the lungs in an outpatient office. Being in both areas of care allows him to stay on top of the emerging and ever changing landscape of medicine, and be able to keep a continuity of care for hospitalized patients. He starts by listening to understand you and your health concerns, and takes the time to get to know you and your family's health history. Then, he works with you to create a care plan that's right for you.

Dr. Toney treats patients with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sarcoidosis, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer and pulmonary nodules, and many other rare conditions affecting the lung. He has a close association with the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center to treat patients with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). When seeing patients in the hospital, Dr. Toney is treating some of the sickest patients in the medical intensive care, neuro intensive care and cardiovascular/transplant intensive care units.

He is a Volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine as well as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Marian College of Osteopathic Medicine and takes great pride in training medical students, interns, residents and pulmonary/critical care fellows. When not caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four sons, playing soccer, basketball and volleyball, and he is also an avid outdoorsman - you will often find him visiting national parks and camping in his downtime.
