Chelsey Bayer Ortman, MDPediatric Neurology in Austin, TX

Chelsey B. Ortman, MD, is a pediatric neurologist with UT Health Austin who practices at Dell Children's in Austin, TX. Dr. Ortman has a special interest in pediatric epilepsy, including the surgical treatment of epilepsy, as well as pediatric neurocritical care, tuberous sclerosis, global medicine, quality improvement, and medical education. She provides both inpatient and outpatient care to children with neurological diseases. Additionally, Dr. Ortman serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School.

Dr. Ortman completed her undergraduate studies at Rice University in Houston, TX, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Asian Studies. She completed her medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, GA, and completed a five-year residency in child neurology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Ortman went on to complete dual one-year fellowships in clinical neurophysiology and advanced pediatric epilepsy at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX. She is a member of the American Epilepsy Society, American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, Child Neurology Society, and American Academy of Neurology.
