Dr. Kim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Philosophy from Vanderbilt University. He then completed his medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Kim pursued an orthopedic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He further specialized in spine surgery through a fellowship at the Emory Orthopaedics and Spine Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Kim's clinical expertise includes the treatment of complex degenerative, traumatic, and deformity conditions of the spine, as well as revision spine procedures. He has extensive training in motion-sparing surgery, minimally invasive spine procedures, spine trauma, fusion surgeries, and deformity correction.
