He also specializes in performing and interpreting imaging procedures of your heart when necessary.

Dr. Veerkamp has a subspecialty certification in cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, and echocardiography. He is a member of multiple organizations including the American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. Dr. Veerkamp also participates in various clinical research studies as both primary and sub-investigators in several coronary and structural heart disease trials. Dr. Veerkamp is the associate program director of the cardiovascular medicine fellowship program and involved in medical education at Ascension St. Vincent.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Veerkamp enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children. On the weekends he can be found either coaching or watching his kids participate in various sporting activities.
