The new Ascension St. Vincent Brain and Spine Hospital will be the premier destination for cranial and spine care, ensuring that Indiana families have access to the best care close to home.

When families in Indiana need brain and spine care, they know they can turn to Ascension St. Vincent. As a leader in brain and spine care in Indianapolis, Ascension St. Vincent has expanded its care services with a new state-of-the-art Brain and Spine Hospital.

As the central region of Indiana continues to grow, so does the demand for specialized neurosurgery and orthopedic clinical spaces to care for the most complex brain and spine injuries and diagnoses.

“Our patients and their families were at the center of our design plans for this facility,” said Stephan Masoncup, JD, Chief Strategy Officer for Ascension St. Vincent. “We’re offering a center of excellence for brain and spine care that integrates clinical innovation, research, and a commitment to the highest quality of care for each individual we serve.”

This new hospital, opening in the Spring of 2025, represents a significant step forward in response to the growing demand. The 109,000 square foot space will feature 38 ICU rooms designed for the most advanced brain and spine patient care. With access to the main hospital and the entire 86th Street campus, the Brain and Spine Hospital will complement Ascension St. Vincent's existing Level 1 trauma center, making it a hub for advanced cranial and spine care in Indiana. It will include eight operating suites, and additionally, two interventional neuroradiology labs that will offer advanced endovascular diagnostic and treatment capabilities to treat a wide range of neurological conditions such as stroke, brain aneurysm and other neurovascular conditions.

"We want to provide Indiana patients access to complex, specialized care without the need to leave the state,” said Dan Parod, President, Ascension St. Vincent Central Region. Our brain and spine hospital furthers our goal of becoming a destination for comprehensive healthcare for all of our patient's needs."
